Books have always been one of my greatest interests and
joys. Nothing beats a good book, that being fiction or
non-fiction. Over the years I have worked my way through
quite a lot of great books and my bookshelves take up more
and more space.
It therefore seemed natural to share some of my experiences
reading wise with you. Below you will find an overview over
the books I have standing on my bookshelves and my ratings
of them. I will also try keep you updated on what I am
reading for the moment and give reviews of these books.
The
cloud below represents tags on my different books. As
you can see from the cloud my interest spand wide when I
am choosing my books. The bigger the tag the more books
contained within that subject.
The
author cloud represents the different authors in my book
collection. The bigger the tag the bigger the number of
books from that author. Use the links to see the titles
from the individual author.
Finally
we have the book reviews where I rate and review the books
that i read. 5 stars is the highest rating and any book
getting this rating is worth reading if you have just close
to the same taste as me.
Finally it came. The last book in the saga of Harry Potter. Like everyone else I
was really looking forward to it and read in a couple of days when I finally got
a hold of it (it’s unbelievable to me, that it can be sold out from the
publisher. What did they expect?). Anyway it fully lived up to my expectations.
Some great twists although the ending might have been missing a bit in
unpredictability.
This book is amazing. It's a non-fiction book about what we today would call a
terror cell. The cell worked in Denmark through the 60's and 70's at the same
time and with the same goal as for instance Rote Armé Fraction in Germany. Øvig
Knudsen gives an excellent presentation of the groups engagements and the
reasons behind their actions as well as how they kept the police in the dark for
over two decades. Its Danish crime history brilliantly presented. This is the
first of two volumes about the group. Read it!
Probably the biggest disappointment, reading wise, this year. Jan Guillou is far
from his usually class. The plot is straight forward and very easy to figure
out. No surprises at all expect from the ending which is a totally different
story than the rest of the book. Through most of it I had the feeling that
Guillou was trying more to get his political views and discontent towards the
wealthy people of Sweden across to the reader, rather than giving us a good
story.
Went through
this book in 4 days. It’s great! Conn Iggulden continues where
he stopped with his series on Caesar but this time it’s about
the rise and fall of Djengis Khan. Excellent reading if you are
like historical fiction that’s easy to read and packed with
action.
